Harmans Cross Village Hall is one of the best wedding reception venues in Purbeck, providing a spacious and flexible environment with extensive outside space, plenty of parking, modern audio-visual equipment and a commercial kitchen.

Our ‘Wedding Package’ includes:
Exclusive Use of Main Hall and fully-equipped Commercial Kitchen from Friday 1.00 p.m. to Sunday 1.00 p.m., allowing time for setting-up before, and clearing up after, your Big Day.
Exclusive use of the Meeting Room from Saturday 8.30 a.m. to Sunday 1.00 p.m. This room is often used as a ‘quiet room’ for older guests and features a 32” colour TV set.
Use of all tables and chairs. Fire regulations permit us to seat 100 people at tables.
Function-quality cutlery and crockery (white) is available on request at no additional charge.
White function-quality tablecloths are available to hire at £4 per cloth, which covers the cost of laundering them.
Full use of our audio-visual package including CD/ipod input facilities, PA system, use of our overhead projector and screen for your family DVD’s or for a rolling photographic display.
Full use of our west-facing sun patio and our patio furniture, and full (but not exclusive) use of the adjoining children’s playground.
Full use of all toilet and hand-washing facilities, including a fully-equipped disabled toilet and baby-changing equipment.
Full free use of our car-park (approx 25 cars); there is a public car-park right across the road, available for a small fee.
We offer stiletto-heel wearers the option of borrowing heel-protectors if they would like to help us to prevent damage to our dance floor, but their use is optional and the wearing of stiletto heels is NOT forbidden at Wedding Receptions.
The Hall will have been fully cleaned within 48 hours of the start of your booking period. No additional charge is made for cleaning at the end of your hire.* The windows will have been fully cleaned inside and out.
We can recommend the services of various locally-based licensees to run your bar, or are happy to discuss alternative bar personnel as long as they hold the necessary licences.
We can recommend the services of professional caterers, or are happy to accommodate alternative caterers of your choice.
The Hall is happy to accommodate your disco or live band, and can offer the use of stage lighting and portable staging if required (please note – this would need to be set up on the Friday and dismantled on the Sunday – this cannot be done during the Saturday!)
In the interests of child safety we ask hirers not to permit children to use the play area after darkness has fallen. We do recommend that children using the play area are properly supervised.
No additional charge is made should the hirer wish to use a marquee or similar, as long as this is provided by an approved supplier and fully insured by the hirer or marquee supplier. HOWEVER IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT AN OUTSIDE MARQUEE MAY ONLY BE USED FOR ‘OVERSPILL CATERING’ AND THAT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MAY LIVE OR RECORDED MUSIC BE PLAYED OUTSIDE THE MAIN HALL as this might prove to be intrusive to our neighbours.
* We do request that hirers take their rubbish, bottles, cans etc. home and to use the cleaning materials provided to leave the Hall in the condition in which they found it. A surcharge may be imposed should additional cleaning be required.
If you decide to book your wedding with us, you will have the services of a dedicated co-ordinator, i.e. a member of our Village Hall Committee, who will liaise with you, your bar operators, your caterers, and your own Wedding organiser and who will be on call throughout your weekend to assist with any problems which you may encounter whilst using our Village Hall. Our aim is to ensure that your big day goes without a “hitch”.
